Alternative Delight flashing tools and methods

Nowadays, I am receiving more and more messages that Phoenix Service Software cannot be properly operated on the most recent Windows 10 builds. At most either the phone cannot be recognised by PC for whatever reason (thus resulting in an inability to start flashing) or simply an insolvable B.S.O.D. occurs (in spite of drivers install correctly). There are several alternative flashing software available on the Internet, such as commonly known J.A.F. v1.98.66 and Nokia Care Suite v5.6.134.1513. The biggest problem of the former is the total lack of support for Symbian^3 devices, while the latter can only be used for flashing OFW (it will not work otherwise).

In this article, you will learn how to make an impossible possible. This specific example deals with possibility to downgrade Nokia 808 PureView, but of course, you can employ these steps as an opportunity to analogically flash Delight on Windows 10 effortlessly!

Prerequisites needed:
 • Serviceable Nokia 808 with any firmware version and battery charged on 70-100%.
 • USB data cable.
 • Windows XP 32-bit - Windows 10 64-bit (should not be a problem at all).
 • Nokia Infinity Best software (BB5 Easy Service Tool), preferably version 1.55 or higher.
 • The firmware which you want to downgrade for (including the 5th APEONLYENO file when flashing down to FP1).
 • And approximately 15 minutes...

WARNING! Think one hundred times what you are doing and why. In general, go through this procedure slowly, in stages, and everything will work out! A demonstrating video is available on YouTube.

Steps to proceed:

1. Download the earlier firmware and unpack its files (remember the folder to be referred later).

2. Install the BB5 Easy Service Tool and run it.

3. Connect Nokia 808 to PC in Nokia Suite mode.

4. In the BB5 Easy Service Tool, select "Service Tool" tab and click Read Info. From this time on, you will start seeing the logs (please refer to the video mentioned above and collapse spoilers).

5. Go to the "Repair" tab and be sure to click on READ RPL. It is very IMPORTANT!!! Do not skip this step, because at this stage backup of your certificates and other essential files is created, the loss of which threatens to cause the phone to become a brick or you will need to order the RPL file for your IMEI (what is not possible in present days).

The phone will reboot into Local or Test mode. At the same time, the computer will install new S60 and Nokia 808 drivers automatically. Wait for a little, 1-2 minutes.

6. Next, remove and insert the battery back in the smartphone and turn it on.
Go to "Service Tool" tab. Where it is written "PM Operations", click Read. A window will pop up with a choice to save the PM file, click OK and wait for the process to finish.

Again, remove and insert the battery and turn on the smartphone. Go to "User Data Tool" tab and click Read FullFlash.
Wait for the process to end. After completion, reinsert the battery and turn on the smartphone.

7. Just in case, make a backup of PP. Go to "Service Tool" tab, find "Factory Settings" caption and click Read, a window will pop up with a file to be saved, click OK and wait for the process to complete.

8. Backup is created, and now it is high time to proceed with the downgrade process.
To do that, on the "Repair" tab check "Rapido Safe" box in the lower right corner and press the red ERASE FLASH button. Without disconnecting the smartphone from cable, remove the battery, insert it and press the smartphone's power button for 1 second until the log in the program appears. Then wait for the process to complete.
At the same time, a window will pop up with a warning that all phone memory will be erased. But the backup had already been created one step before! So click Yes, for repeated query click Yes and go ahead.

9. It is about time to flash the firmware. Go to the "Flashing" tab and then set the following parameters (on the example of firmware version 112.020.0309):
- Check Manual, DeadMode, FactorySet boxes,
- Uncheck Use INI, Chk/Read, Backup boxes,
- Select Model - RM-807 (scroll through the list),
- MCU RM-807_112.020.0309_79u_prd.core,
- PPM1 RM-807_112.020.0309_04.01_Russian_79u_prd.rofs2,
- PPM2 RM-807_112.020.0309_C06.01_Russia_79u_prd.rofs3.fpsx,
- CNT1 RM-807_112.020.0309_U01.01_79u.uda.fpsx,
- CNT2 NOKIA 808 RM-807.bin_APEONLYENO.fpsx.
Click FLASH. BB5 Easy Service Tool will check the files and start flashing.

After all manipulations, the phone will turn on. If it does not turn on, reinsert the battery. But NOT in the process of firmware flashing, of course!

10. Proceed to the restoration of RPL, PM, PP. For doing this, connect the switched-on smartphone to cable and select Nokia Suite mode. Restart BB5 Easy Service Tool and go to the "Repair" tab, check the "All" box and click Write RPL. In the first confirmation window, click OK, in the second one click Cancel, and on the rest of requests click Yes or OK. Carefully look in the log: if on the left an inscription like --- Insert cable and charger or press phone's power button! --- appears, then reinsert the battery, for a second press the smartphone's power button and wait until the program finishes its operation.

Nokia 808 should display Test or Local Mode. Wait for the string Connect phone on selected interface... in the log to appear. Again remove and insert the battery, turn on the smartphone and check its IMEI. Next, connect the smartphone to cable and select Nokia Suite mode. Where inscription "Repair" is, press Repair SDD and wait for the end of the process. If Local or Test Mode is displayed on the smartphone, tick "Use Custom Key" checkbox, click Local SX4 Auth and wait for the end of the process.
Go to "Service Tool" tab, click Read Info and check this information in the log.

In general, that's all, thanks to Magdalena Krużel for finding this out and ivanessense1 at for the tips!
Good luck and successful firmware up/down-grades!
